Bike Hire Terms & Conditions

THE HIRER IS RESPONSIBLE for the bike and the equipment and will be liable for any loss or damage to the bike or equipment.

REQUIRED IDENTIFICATION

We require a form of identification from each hirer, plus a proof of permanent address. You must bring a valid driving licence or a passport along with a current utility bill to proove your address. A nominated responsible adult may take responsibility for all bikes hired during a group booking, that one person is then responsible for all bikes listed under said person’s name. If no ID & proof of address can be provided on the day, we may require a slightly higher deposit than usual.

LOSS AND DAMAGE DEPOSIT

A small deposit is required for each bike hired. This deposit is refundable on safe return of the bike. We will run a sale through of the required amount and then void this transaction upon safe return of the bike. Usually this transaction will not show in your account as it is voided before we bank it. The hirer will be liable to pay in full the cost of any loss or damage of the bike / equipment which may be over and above that of the security deposit.

Any damage (crash/accidental/neglectful) will be charged for at cost price. Rental bikes should only be ridden on the grade of trail specified. We do not permit our bikes to be used in any sort of competitive or race scenario.

CANCELLATION

Bike hire cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge which varies depending on the amount of notice give before the hire date.

If you notify us within 48 hours of the date you are due to hire a bike, you will be charged the full hire cost, and no money will be refunded – It should also be noted that no date transfer can be completed within this period.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the date booked will not be charged. Either a full refund or date transfer can be requested.

Cancellations must be made via phone or email, a refund if applicable will be made at this point.

CHILDREN

Children aged 16 years and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times (including on the trails), no adult, no ride, no refund! Electric bikes cannot be ridden by anyone under the age of 14 years.

HELMETS

Helmets are mandatory, a free helmet is offered with every hire bike, if you have your own, and so long as it exceeds the required British Standard, you are welcome to use that. You must always wear either your own or hired helmet whilst riding a hire bike.

You are about to take part in a high risk activity. You will minimise this risk by following the safety rules and advice in the Mountain Biker’s Code. If you don’t follow the safety rules and advice you could have a serious accident which could be fatal. Hire bikes are assessed by a qualified mechanic prior to being hired but please make sure that you follow the Mountain Bikers Checklist for your own safety.
